About the Coalition
The Minnesota Smoke-Free Coalition was established in 1984 to reduce tobacco use in Minnesota. Our goals are to prevent children from beginning a lifelong addiction to tobacco, to help those who want to quit smoking and to protect non-smokers from exposure to secondhand smoke.

Just as our victories benefit people from all walks of life in Minnesota, our members and allies come from all corners of our community.  They are our greatest assets.  Today, the coalition includes a large, diverse group of health, business and civic organizations. While we will never have the massive resources of the tobacco industry, we do have the benefit of using what resources we do have to our greatest advantage-and we have the dedication of thousands of people.
